Recycled Cotton Sari Kantha
Kanthas are hand-stitched throws made in India from recycled saris. They consist of three layers of hand-stitched sari fabric. Each one is unique and has its own character, which may include small dye marks or spots. Some might feature charming little patches, pieced or repaired fabrics, fading, or small holes that reveal the center fabric. These “flaws” are part of their story; we refer to them as character, not flaws.
They are perfect for travel blankets, couch covers, wall tapestries, fabric yardage, and more.
Each kantha is unique. Each is sold separately.
I love all things recycled sari. My favorite bags are from Sari Bari, which closed its shop in late 2022. If I find similar production, you’ll know! I use these to cover the seats and backs of my chairs and couches. Maybe it’s the Italian in me (stepping up from plastic covers), but I love how it adds another dimension to the room's feel.
